Day-1.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 YEREVAN ARRIVAL
Arrival to Zvartnots International Airport Meet your Travel Agency representative. Transfer to the hotel. Check in.
Take a half day tour of Yerevan, the Armenia’s capital city and one of the oldest cities in the world. Stop at the Victory Park and Mother Armenia monument to get a spectacular view of the Biblical Mt. Ararat with a panorama of central Yerevan. Take a walking tour of Cascade Complex, with its Sculpture Park. Visit the magnificent building of the Opera House and the postmodern Northern Avenue. Visit the Republic Square to see the "Dancing Fountains", a choreographed water show synched with lights and music. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day-2
YEREVAN – KHOR VIRAP – NORAVANK – ARENI
Breakfast. Drive to the Khor Virap Monastery, where the Mt. Ararat reveals its breathtaking size and splendor. The monastery is located a few hundred meters from the border with Turkey, on the banks of the river Araks, right at the foot of the Mt. Ararat. Khor Virap is one of the most popular destinations in Armenia for a number of reasons, primarily because it is where the St. Gregory the Illuminator, the future head of the Armenian Apostolic Church was imprisoned here for 13 years.
Con:nue to the masterpiece of medieval Armenian architecture, the 14th century Noravank Monastery, which is set in the spectacular valley of red rocks, that contrasts with the stark blue sky. Continue in the Vayots Dzor Province, which is Armenia’s most storied wine growing region. Armenia is considered one of the most ancient cradles of grape growing and wine making. Visit the Areni Village and participate in the annual Areni Grape Fest. The interest to the fes:val grows each year involving more and more people, including both wine makers and wine lovers. It is also a great way to discover Armenia, its culture and tradi:ons, as there will be a colorful na:onal games for all ages, folk and tradi:onal music, dance and theatrical performances. Return to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day-3.
YEREVAN – GARNI – GEGHARD – SYMPHONY OF THE STONES – YEREVAN
Breakfast. Drive to one of the most beau:ful monasteries in Armenia, the 13th century cave monastery of Geghard (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The Geghard complex is set in the landscape of great natural beauty, surrounded by towering cliffs at the entrance to the Azat Valley.
Con:nue to the oldest surviving building on the territory of Armenia, the 1st century Garni Pagan Temple. The Garni Temple was built by the Armenian King Tiridates with the money he received a]er visi:ng Emperor Nero in Rome, and was dedicated to Sun God Mithra. Watch the process of making the tradi:onal bread lavash at the local Garni village house.
Take a local 4x4 jeeps to get down to Garni Gorge to see the breathtaking ver:cal cliffs, consis:ng of well preserved basalt columns. Those orderly octagonal columns look almost like an organ, that is why they are called the "Symphony of the Stones".
Return to Yerevan. Take a tour of an open air “Vernissage” market, where you can buy some gi]s, souvenirs, jewelry and other handicra]s made of wood, semi-precious stones, silver and other materials. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day-4. MONDAY, OCTOBER 03
YEREVAN – LAKE SEVAN – YELL EXTREME PARK – YEREVAN
Breakfast. Drive to Lake Sevan, one of the highlights of a visit to Armenia. Walk up to the 8th century monastery of Sevanavank on Sevan peninsula, one of Armenia’s iconic landmarks. Con:nue to Yenokavan and visit the Yell Extreme Park to take an adventure zipline tour. Ziplining is an increasingly popular and expanding tourist aerac:on in Armenia. This adventure through the forests of the beau:ful Tavush Province of Armenia, features 5 incredible ziplines (135 meters, 200 meters, 268 meters, 375 meters, and 750 meters long), joined by a network of different trails. The all 5 rides take approximately 1,5 hours to complete, and the flights last from 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Return to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day-5. TUESDAY, OCTOBER 04
YEREVAN DEPATURE
Breakfast. Check out from hotel. Transfer to Zvartnots International Airport. Departure from Yerevan.
